Overview
Tim Barry is an associate attorney in the firm’s Public Finance Group, where he supports clients in navigating Ohio’s economic development programs and incentives. As a Public Finance associate, Tim focuses on helping municipalities, developers, and businesses access and implement economic development tools, including Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Community Reinvestment Areas (CRA), Enterprise Zone (EZ) administration, and New Community Authorities (NCA).
With a deep interest in economic development, Tim assists in structuring transactions that foster community revitalization and business growth across Ohio. He also contributes to research and compliance efforts related to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), aiding clients in understanding utilizing federal incentives for renewable energy and sustainability projects.
Tim earned his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from The Ohio State University. With prior experience in legal and strategic roles, he has gained experience across diverse areas of law and business, including reviewing SEC filings, developing ESG strategies, conducting legal research on corporate governance and cryptocurrency, and assisting with trademark filings. In a judicial externship with the Southern District of Ohio, he contributed to drafting opinions on complex litigation, and earlier in his career, he managed a strategic project team that developed a five-year plan to drive business growth. Tim holds dual bachelor’s degrees in history and psychology from Kenyon College.
