Outside The Office
When asked where he’s from, Zack will say Cincinnati, but when pressed, he may reveal that he grew up in Michigan. Zack loves Michigan, but he loves Cincinnati and his family here even more. However, he will admit that he only ended up in Cincinnati after a lot of luck and a little bit of grace.
Zack met his future law Partner Richard La Jeunesse at an environmental law conference in Columbus. The two struck up a conversation about magic (illusions, not fantasy) that eventually turned into an opportunity in Cincinnati.
Zack met his wife Carolyn on his first Halloween in Cincinnati, and soon the two went on what each would describe as hilariously bad dates. On their first date at a steak house, Zack found out that Carolyn was a vegetarian. On their second date, Carolyn got food poisoning. On their third, Zack got food poisoning. Eventually, they decided it may be best if they stopped trying to eat on dates.
People asked Carolyn why she endured this amount of gastrointestinal distress, and her only response was that he was tall.
Eventually, a good sense of humor and a shared love of nature won out, and the two got married, started a family, and dug roots even deeper into the great City of Cincinnati, as improbable as that may have been over a decade ago.
