Overview
Darby joins Bricker Graydon as an attorney on the Public Finance team, bringing a wealth of experience in commercial real estate and transactional law. Prior to joining Bricker Graydon, Darby represented national and regional clients in commercial real estate and middle market lending transactions across retail, hotels, and other sectors. His practice included drafting and negotiating leases, purchase agreements, credit agreements, and conducting due diligence tasks.
With extensive finance experience, Darby has contributed to a variety of high-profile projects. He has managed numerous loan transactions, analyzed and summarized lease provisions and title reports for over 40 grocery stores, and drafted a comprehensive private placement disclosure memorandum for a significant preferred equity investment. Additionally, he assessed potential risks and liabilities in a substantial hotel portfolio acquisition. His expertise also extends to significant real estate developments, having provided key assistance on the pre-leasing work for a major mixed-use project comprising residential units, commercial space, parking garages, and green spaces.
Darby earned his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2023. He also gained valuable legal experience interning for a major real estate development company and clerking at a federal agency, where he assisted in drafting regulatory documents and conducting research on agency matters. Darby holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Communication and English Literature from The University of Cincinnati.
