Overview
Chris has over 44 years of experience in long-term care and acute health care service matters. She retired from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) after 30 years where she was instrumental in developing and enforcing regulations involving nursing homes and cardiac catheterization, open heart surgery, organ transplantation, and obstetric and newborn care services. After retiring from ODH, she came to Bricker Graydon to assist clients in meeting these and other regulatory requirements and navigating the state and federal systems that govern these services.
Director of Regulatory Services for INCompliance, Chris Kenney works with provider associations, industry groups, state agencies, and a range of health care providers on various regulatory matters. She has conducted Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNA) since the enactment of the requirement under the Affordable Care Act and regularly assists hospitals with monitoring and measuring Implementation Strategy actions during non-reporting years. Chris served as director of Ohio’s Certificate of Need (CON) and Health Care Services programs from 1997 to 2009, where she prepared legislation and developed policy directives to address standards for cardiac catheterization and cardiovascular surgery services. She was also instrumental in developing and introducing the long-term care bed need methodology currently used in Ohio. She joined INCompliance in 2009 to continue to assist health care providers in addressing regulatory matters including licensure, CON, change in bed capacity, change of owner/operator, Medicare and Medicaid certification, space conversion, and franchise permit fee. Clients rely on Chris’s extensive experience from managing long-term care bed right sales and acquisitions, to filing for CON, project development, and nursing home licensure and certification.
