Overview
Drew Campbell is the Chair of the Firm’s Class Action Practice Group and its Insurance Litigation Group, and is the former Chair of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. His practice includes complex commercial litigation, class action defense, insurance litigation and coverage, and health care litigation. Drew regularly appears in state and federal courts throughout the United States.
Drew’s representation includes defense of a data breach class action against a regional hospital; high-exposure coverage and bad faith class action cases against insurance companies arising from COVID-related claims; appellate reversal of bad faith judgment against insurance carrier; defense of consumer fraud class action claims against banks and credit unions; successful defense of the nation’s first-ever insurance coverage case arising from the alleged theft of crypto currency; defense of class claims against a specialty financer arising from a shareholders’ derivative suit; defense of consumer class action claims challenging the business practices of a specialty lender; special litigation counsel for the estate of National Century Financial Enterprises, Inc., in connection with the collapse of NCFE’s $3 billion bond issuance; recovery of $5 million in damages for breach of an energy supply agreement; prosecution of fraud and contract claims against a California-based healthcare provider on behalf of a specialty financer; prosecution of fraud claim against lending customer leading to incarceration of the defendant; successful defense of fraud and RICO claims against lender and its officers in $30 million multi-state lender liability litigation arising from the collapse of nursing homes in 13 states; and successful defense of provisions of the Ohio Code of Judicial Conduct on First Amendment grounds.
