Governor Beshear Issues Executive Order Restricting Travel Outside Kentucky

In a growing effort to contain the coronavirus, on Monday Governor Beshear issued Executive Order 2020-258 restricting travel for Kentucky residents.

Under the Order, Kentuckians cannot travel to another state unless for one of the stated exceptions which include:

• for work;
• to obtain groceries, medicine, or other necessary supplies;
• to obtain healthcare (by a licensed healthcare provider);
• to provide for elderly, minors, dependents, persons with disabilities, or other vulnerable persons; or
• when required by a court order.

If a resident of Kentucky leaves the state other than for one of the exceptions, they must self-quarantine for 14 days.

Bottom line for employers in Kentucky and Ohio: your employees that live in Kentucky can still come to work and they don’t have to self-quarantine for 14 days when they return to Kentucky.
