On April 17, 2025, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) formally announced an extension for the mandatory off-cycle revalidation deadline for skilled nursing facilities (SNFs).[1] Under the extension, SNFs must now submit revalidations, including Attachment 1—which replaced Sections 5 and 6 of enrollment form 855A—by August 1, 2025, instead of the previous May 1, 2025, deadline. This extension provides SNFs more time to revalidate and avoid the risk of losing Medicare payment eligibility.

This announcement comes after CMS’s April 9, 2025, update on its sub-regulatory guidance regarding SNF Attachment 1.[2] The update includes clarification on who constitutes an additional disclosable party (ADP) and provides clarification on the disclosure of therapy service providers under Attachment 1.
