Online filings with the Ohio Secretary of State are experiencing delays

The Ohio Secretary of State has confirmed that it remains open for business for the time being but is processing online filings at 7 to 10 business days for standard processing. In practice, our attorneys are experiencing actual standard processing times longer than quoted. 

For urgent matters, including all transactions involving closings expected for this month, we are recommending expedited filings (for an additional fee). Please note, there is no way to expedite filings once they have been submitted. However, so long as the filer designates the filing as “expedited” at the outset and pays the expedited fee, representatives have confirmed that they will honor the expedited time frame.
