Did you know? CMS has offered to resume Medicare appeals settlements

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced it will once again allow eligible providers to settle their inpatient status claims that are currently under appeal using the hospital appeals settlement process. The announcement means eligible providers will have the opportunity to settle their inpatient status claims currently pending appeal in lieu of enduring the delay for an administrative law judge hearing caused by the appeals backlog.

According to CMS, details regarding the settlement process will be provided in early November followed by an overview of the process during a CMS call on Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
