Real estate attorney Rebecca Joseph honored by the YWCA
Real estate attorney Rebecca Joseph was recently honored by the YWCA at its Annual Meeting as an outgoing 2022 YWCA Leadership for Social Change Fellow.
Through the 11-month learning experience Rebecca, alongside other emerging leaders, engaged in workshops with community experts working in organizations that create social change. The exposure to experts from grassroots, political, community-based, educational and nonprofit organizations help these participants develop practical and theoretical knowledge about current issues and models for creating change.
YWCA, is a word, not an acronym. Their work is driven by a commitment to intersectional gender equity, no matter someone’s religion. YWCA Columbus has played a leading role in their community, meeting critical needs in housing, childcare, women’s leadership training and racial justice. Their mission of "eliminating racism and empowering women" drives programming and services, reflecting the values of peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people. Additionally, they offer an extensive list of leadership training and programming opportunities for women of all ages. All of the YWCA’s work is grounded in the elementary belief that all people have value, potential and the ability to create positive social change in the world around us.
