Law firm Bricker & Eckler to open new Dayton office in Water Street District
DAYTON, Ohio – Continuing revitalization efforts in the heart of the city, Ohio law firm Bricker & Eckler LLP has signed on to open a new Dayton office in the Water Street District.
Occupying a portion of the 50,000-sq.-ft. office building, Bricker & Eckler’s Dayton office will be the fifth Ohio office location for the 140-attorney firm. The firm has a current office in West Chester, Ohio, which serves the southwest Ohio region. Other office locations include Columbus, Cleveland and Marietta, and the firm has clients throughout Ohio.
“Dayton is experiencing resurgence in economic development, and we are excited to be a part of it,” said Bricker Managing Partner Kurt Tunnell. “Our client base in southwest Ohio continues to grow, and we have an especially strong presence in Montgomery County with health care, real estate and public sector clients. This new office location positions us to continue our focus on our clients in the region.”
Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley said she is excited for Bricker to expand and welcomes the firm in officially joining the community. “Bricker & Eckler recognizes the advantages of locating in downtown Dayton, and we are very happy to welcome them,” Mayor Whaley said. “The Water Street District is quickly becoming one of the region’s success stories.”
Bricker worked with CBRE, a real estate brokerage and management company, to select the new office location. The law firm expects to grow the firm in the region, and will have approximately five attorneys and several staff members in the new office location to start.
The new building, located at 312 N. Patterson Boulevard, is the first new speculative Class A office building in downtown Dayton in more than 20 years. The development by Dublin-based Crawford Hoying and Dayton-based Woodard Development is part of a $45 million urban revitalization project that will also include a new parking structure and 215 luxury apartments. The building will be adjacent to public transportation, green space, recreational trails, and the Link Dayton bike share terminal. Bricker joins anchor tenant PNC Bank, which announced its move last year.
“A major purpose of the Water Street project was to help the City of Dayton attract and retain quality jobs. The addition of Bricker and Eckler to Water Street is a win for the City and we are extremely proud our project was able to secure such a prominent firm as a long-term tenant,” said Jason Woodard on behalf of the developers.
Development of the building followed environmentally sound construction practices, and the new office building will use a high-efficiency geothermal heating and cooling system, have no irrigation, feature LED exterior lighting and employ low water flow fixtures.
