The FDCC is a prestigious legal organization made up of more than 1,500 legal professionals who specialize in the defense of civil lawsuits, in-house corporate counsel, and insurance industry professionals.
Marvinney was accepted into the FDCC in 1999 and is celebrating his 25th year as a member. Prior to being named President, Marvinney served as a board member as well as the FDCC’s Secretary-Treasurer, and President-Elect. Marvinney also serves as an emeritus member of the Lawyers Advisory Committee to the United States District Court (N.D. Ohio) and as a neutral for over 30 years on the court’s Neutrals Panel, a board member of the Federal Bar Association, Northern District of Ohio Chapter and as a member of Section and Committee Oversight Panel of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association - Litigation Section. He has been listed by various legal rating organizations such as Ohio Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America and has carried Martindale-Hubbell’s AV rating for over 25 years.
“I am humbled to be chosen to lead as the next President of the FDCC,” said Marvinney, “I look ahead to the FDCC moving forward in 2023 and 2024, not as many individuals, but as one organization of unity together. This year, not just one program, but the entire year is devoted to leadership. Our members are leaders in the organization, defense bar, national bar, communities, and beyond. We are looking for stronger in-person meetings and a deeper commitment to the defense side of the ‘v’ in litigation and trial work as the defense bar faces the challenges ahead. We stand for excellence in the practice of law and our vetted members undertake their efforts with that foundation. We will continue to advance that effectively as we move forward.”
FDCC members attending the 2023 Annual Meeting also unanimously elected a slate of Leaders and Board candidates recommended by the Nominating Committee at the FDCC’s Business Meeting. Details about about each award, the FDCC’s Board of Directors, and the organization’s leadership can be found on the FDCC’s website.
