Bricker & Eckler Named to National Law Journal’s “Midsize Hot List”

COLUMBUS— Bricker & Eckler LLP has been named to The National Law Journal’s “2013 Midsize Hot List,” announced today.

Bricker & Eckler was recognized in the article for having “adopted business development strategies that include enthusiastic use of social media, close client contact and strategic specialization.” The 20 midsize law firms across the nation selected for the list were said to share a “keen business strategy” that has delivered noteworthy cases and prominent deals to their doors. Bricker & Eckler was the only Ohio-based law firm named on this year’s list.

Areas of strategic specialization highlighted in the article include the firm’s energy and health care practices. Of the firm’s energy practice, the NLJ cited focused efforts since 2008 to understand and advocate for the advanced energy industry, as well as expansion into shale projects including representation of the Southeastern Ohio Landowners Association in nine recent deals with oil and gas companies.

The article also mentioned the firm’s nationally recognized health care practice as a “dominant practice area,” citing work with the Ohio Hospital Association and its member hospitals. Health care client Dan Paoletti, chief executive officer of the Ohio Health information Partnership, was quoted in the article as saying, “We’ve been thrilled with their work. The NLJ’s Midsize Hot List, published annually, highlights firms with from 51 to 150 attorneys that have demonstrated creative, innovative strategies to stay competitive. The publication selected this year’s honorees because they are “led by forward-thinking attorneys who are guiding their organizations in new practice directions, amassing more business in mainstay practices and spreading into new regions.”
