Bartemes inducted into prestigious American College of Real Estate Lawyers
Bricker & Eckler is pleased to announce that Amy Straker Bartemes, a partner in the firm’s Columbus office, was recently inducted into the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), the premier organization of real estate lawyers in the United States. Admission to ACREL is by invitation only, following a rigorous screening process and significant peer review. Members are elected based on recognition locally and nationally as a distinguished real estate practitioner, high standards of professional and ethical conduct, and contributions within both the legal and non-legal communities to the improvement of the practice of commercial real estate law.
Bartemes was the only attorney in the state of Ohio admitted to ACREL’s Class of 2022.
Bartemes regularly advises clients in the acquisition, sale, development, leasing and disposition of real property, serving clients in a variety of industries, including health care, energy, telecommunications and both the private and public sector, with a significant portion of her practice dedicated to providing legal advice to school districts across the State of Ohio. And as an active member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and Columbus Bar Association and the Columbus chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), she serves as an influential voice in real estate law, empowering and educating others in her field. Notably, Amy is a past Chair of the Columbus Bar Association’s Real Property Law Committee, only the second female to hold this position.
Bartemes is the third Bricker attorney to be inducted into ACREL, following Dave Baker and Dusty McCreary, who are both long-standing members. She has also been consistently recognized by Best Lawyers in America as a top talent in real estate law.
Bartemes received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law and her B.A. magna cum laude from Purdue University where she was inducted as a member of the selective national academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa.
