August 2024 K-12 Education Title IX Regulations Training Series
Bricker Graydon’s K-12 Education Team is pleased to announce a Fall 2024 series of trainings to learn how to remain compliant with the 2020 Title IX regulations. Because in Ohio (where most of our attendees are operating), the 2024 regulations have been enjoined from enforcement, this training series will not address the 2024 regulations.
NOTE: Training materials will be provided to attendees to post on their websites in compliance with the 2020 Title IX Regulation Section 106.45(b)(10)(i)(D). While this training includes instruction on the grievance and appeal processes required by the 2020 Title IX regulations, it is not district-specific and does not include an individualized assessment of policies and procedures.
Attendance at these trainings is limited to employees of K-12 schools and other individuals who provide services to those school districts. Individuals who are unaffiliated with a school district will not be permitted to attend without prior approval. Contact marketing@brickergraydon.com for additional information or to edit an existing registration.
Level 1: General Title IX Training for All K-12 Staff Members
The 2020 Title IX regulations state that a school district has “actual knowledge” of a complaint under Title IX if notice is given to any employee of an elementary or secondary school. This one-hour virtual course explains sexual misconduct and the rights and responsibilities of administrators, teachers, coaches and staff under Title IX. It also describes other laws that address discrimination and harassment, such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Employees gain practical knowledge for how to prevent and respond to inappropriate behavior and promote a safe and respectful learning environment.
