This seminar will address the new Fraud and Abuse, Stark, False Claims and Program Integrity provisions enacted through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, which includes:
- New provider responsibilities/liabilities for refunding overpayments
- Significant limitation of the Stark whole hospital exception and in-office ancillary services exception
- Expansion of provider liability under the Anti-Kickback Statute, Civil Monetary Penalties Act and federal Health Care Fraud statutes
- Expansion of the RAC program to Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and Part D programs.
About the Presenter:
Diane Signoracci is a partner in Bricker & Eckler’s Health Care group. She practices in the areas of health care compliance, billing investigations and audits, provider reimbursement, health care regulation, with emphasis on Medicare reimbursement of hospital providers, physician recruitment issues and litigation involving health care fraud, Qui Tam defense and contracting issues. She is also experienced in negotiation and preparation of numerous types of computer contracts. She received her undergraduate degree from Franklin University and her law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law.
