On November 1, 2016, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued the final Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) implementing the provider-based reimbursement changes of the Bipartisan Budget Act (the Budget Act) of 2015. CMS recently released the final rule implementing the Budget Act’s reimbursement changes, which will have important implications for hospitals next year. Hospitals need to understand these changes and more before January 1, 2017.
