Court Rules in Favor of City on Age Discrimination and Retaliation Claims

Law 360’s recent headlines included news about a legal victory secured by Bricker Graydon attorneys Beverly A. Meyer, Benjamin Reeb, and Arthur Schoulties on behalf a municipality facing age discrimination and retaliation claims from a city police officer. By Order dated May 7, 2024, U.S. District Judge Michael J. Newman granted the city judgment in its favor on each of the plaintiff’s claims, highlighting that the city’s termination and alleged failure to promote the officer was the result of his repeated policy violations and not the officer’s age or his filing of discrimination charges against the city.

More information about the case can be found at: U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, case number 3:22-cv-00096.
