"Constitutional Conversation: Brown v. Board of Education"... 60 Years Later
Yesterday I had the pleasure of presenting Kilgour Elementary School with a gift, inspired by the belief that education is the foundation of American democracy.
I painted the "Constitutional Conversation: Brown v. Board of Education 60 Years" with hopes that joining one another in civil conversation will lead to greater understanding. This year, 2014, marks the 60th anniversary of the United States Supreme Court decision of Brown v. Board of Education, striking down de jure segregation of public schools.
*This project was a collaboration of painter, Bruce Petrie Jr., and Brian Thomas, both law partners at Graydon Head. Here they are pictured with Angela Cook Frazier, Principal of Kilgour School.
