Step up to the Plate! Due Date nearing for Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage Notice
It’s already October and the MLB post-season is just around the corner, as is the end-of year notice season. The Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage Notice is first on the list and must be provided by employers sponsoring group health plans prior to each October 15th. You must distribute this notice to all individuals enrolled or seeking to enroll in your plan who are eligible for Medicare Part D, including spouses and dependents. The notice is intended to inform participants whether or not your plan’s prescription drug coverage is expected to cover, on average, as much as the standard Medicare Part D plan. The CMS website has a customizable notice for both creditable and non-creditable coverage, so pull a copy now, enter your plan’s information, and make sure you send the notice prior to October 15th.
