October 15th Due Date for Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage Notice
Like many other employers, there is a good chance you are currently focused on implementing open enrollment for next year. However, the end-of year notice season is rapidly approaching, and the Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage Notice is first on the list. You must issue this notice to all individuals enrolled or seeking to enroll in your plan who are eligible for Medicare Part D, including spouses and dependents, no later than October 15th (only two short weeks away), and it will tell participants whether or not your plan’s prescription drug coverage is expected to cover, on average, as much as the standard Medicare Part D plan. The CMS website has a customizable notice for both creditable and non-creditable coverage, so pull a copy now, enter your plan’s information, and make sure you send the notice before the October 15th deadline.
