A mixed-use development including two indoor sports facilities, “retail, restaurant, and office outparcels” is coming to Reynoldsburg, Columbus Business First reports. The owners of the 23,000-square-foot REP Fieldhouse in northeast Columbus are developing the new complex that includes “two indoor sports facilities” measuring “a combined 109,000 square feet” and “a pair of mixed-use buildings totaling more than 30,000 square feet, a shared plaza, and 500-space surface parking lot,” according to the article.
The larger, 73,700-square-foot sports building “will have a turf field that will mainly be used for football and soccer, but will also have the potential to host baseball, softball and lacrosse training.” REP owner Adam Trautner said, “[w]e have a little bit of turf at our current REP location, but we really wanted to expand that side of the business. We saw a need for more indoor turf options, especially on the east side of Columbus.” The second, 35,200-square-foot sports facility “will mirror REP’s current facility, which has basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts, a small turf field, and mezzanine for spectator viewing and seating.” Trautner said the mixed-use component of the project was prompted by conversations with the city, saying, “[o]ne thing the city wanted to see was some neighborhood commercial space….something that the community could visit and enjoy.” For more, read the full article (subscription may be required).
