Site preparation will soon begin for a new multimillion-dollar mixed-use development on Pike Street in Marietta, bringing temporary construction jobs and 50–70 permanent jobs, the Marietta Times reports. Marietta Zoning Enforcement Officer Jim Caldwell said the as-yet-unnamed project will be multi-use, “office space, some retail, and a restaurant,” according to the article. Mayor Joshua Schlicher confirmed, “the company developing the site is Vienna-based The PM Company (PMC).” Jared Decker, PMC Real Estate Director, said the project “will be the newest development in Marietta and it will be one of the larger retail projects in Marietta,” and that it will cost “every bit of $10 million.” Decker called it “an economic driver for the city and residents” of Marietta and said it has “numerous benefits” including jobs and an increase in “property tax, sales taxes, and business and occupation tax revenue.” For more, read the full article.
