The Business Courier reported this week that the National Association of Seed and Venture Funds (NASVF) will relocate its headquarters from Philadelphia to Lorain, Ohio, early next year and will also hold its annual conference in Cleveland from October 15-17, 2012.
According to its website, NASVF is an international membership organization that "advocates for the growth of seed and early-stage innovation capital." The article said that Mark Kvamme, chief investment officer at JobsOhio, thinks the organization's move to Ohio will "lift the state's profile in the venture capital world"- a goal that he and Gov. John Kasich have worked toward since January.
According to a LorainCounty.com story, the headquarters will be located on the campus of Lorain County Community College. NASVF will send up to four employees who will establish the new NASVF Education Institute, the article said.
