Upper Arlington contemplates TIF for $4.3 million OhioHealth project

Daimler Group Inc. is asking for tax-increment financing (TIF) for public improvements associated with a $4.3 million project to redevelop an Upper Arlington office site into a medical office building for OhioHealth, Columbus Business First reports. The “30-year, non-school-related TIF will finance the cost of the environmental remediation of asbestos in the existing property as well as public sidewalks and utility projects associated with the medical office property,” according to the article. The estimated cost for those items is $250,000. The existing 12,822-square-foot office building at 3363 Tremont Road would be torn down, and a two-story, 26,620-square-foot building would be constructed in its place. Upper Arlington City Council was scheduled to get its first look at the legislation for the TIF at its November 23, 2015 meeting; a vote will be taken at a future meeting.
