Two economic development leaders accept new positions

This week, Worthington City Council voted to hire Lee Brown, Franklin County planning administrator, as Worthington's first director of the new Planning and Building Department, effective early August, ThisWeek Community News reports. Brown will head a newly-created department formed out of a "reorganization of city government that places emphasis on development and redevelopment." Also recently named to a new position was Timothy S. Downs, current deputy director and attorney in the Office of Economic Development for the City of Dayton, who was pegged to be the new economic development director in Craven County, North Carolina, effective August 7, 2013, WCTI12.com reports.
