The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released data on Friday stating that nationally, non-farm payroll employment was unchanged from last month and the unemployment rate held at 9.1 percent. BLS also noted that employment in most major industries changed little over the past month. Health care continued to add jobs while information and governmental employment continued to trend downward.
Ohio’s economy added 6,500 jobs in July, rising 0.1 percent from June, according to state figures released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS). The state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 9 percent in July from 8.8 percent in June. On a nonadjusted basis, the state rate held steady from June at 9.2 percent.
