The $900 million Lordstown Energy Center project in Trumbull County helped boost private investment in the Mahoning Valley to more than $1 billion last year, The Business Journal reports. The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber recently released data, compiled in conjunction with its economic development partners, showing “111 projects resulted in investment of $1.09 billion, 1,253 new jobs and 3,092 retained jobs.” The Lordstown Energy Center was “the largest project announced last year in the 18 counties that comprise northeastern Ohio,” according to the article.
