Study assessing Ohio’s advanced energy economy is the first of its kind

A report released by the Advanced Energy Economy Ohio (AEE Ohio), and touted as the first to ever study Ohio’s advanced energy economy, found that there are “more than 400 advanced energy companies in the state that employ more than 25,400 Ohioans,” Gongwer reports. The study, undertaken by the Advanced Energy Economy Institute, found that Ohio’s advanced energy economy “employed Ohioans across 22 industry segments in 2010” with the largest number of jobs — nearly 7,000 — found in the energy-saving building materials sector, the article said.
