An economic impact study undertaken by the Center for Economic Development at Cleveland State University's Levin College of Urban Affairs found that 127 surveyed companies that were assisted by the Cleveland-based business development agency JumpStart or the North Coast Angel Fund generated "$270 million in economic benefits for Ohio and $211 million for the 21-county region," The Plain Dealer reports. JumpStart Chief Operating Officer Cathy Belk maintains the study shows that entrepreneurs have more than just "ideas" and highlights the fact that "payrolls increased by a collective $18 million at the 44 companies with a three-year track record and that those companies employed an additional 224 people in 2012," the article said.
