State releases quarterly report on economic trends within Ohio's oil and gas industries

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) released its "Quarterly Economic Trends for Ohio Oil and Gas Industries" report for July 2013, which found that ancillary industry employment in the Ohio shale industry was down less than 0.1 percent with an average wage of $58,908, while core industry employment in the Ohio shale industry went up 17.7 percent with an average wage of $76,643. The publication reflects data from the fourth quarter of 2012, which are the most current available. Because they are not seasonally adjusted, the figures are compared to the previous year's.
