State program offers training dollars to help meet workforce demand

In an effort to help Ohio employers improve their economic competitiveness, the Ohio Development Services Agency will launch its fourth round of the Ohio Incumbent Workforce Training Voucher Program soon. Training in these high-demand fields is eligible: aerospace and aviation, advanced manufacturing, automotive, energy, financial services, information technology and services, research and development, as well as several others. Training has already been provided to more than 122,000 employees through this program, which will reimburse employers for up to 50 percent of eligible training costs, with a maximum of $4,000 per employee. Businesses can begin the process online on September 28, 2015; online applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 10:00 a.m. October 14, 2015.
