State of Ohio’s employment summary: January 2012

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) released state figures this morning noting that Ohio’s unemployment rate continues to drop, currently settling at 7.7 percent in January, down from 7.9 percent in the month of December. The number of workers unemployed in the state of Ohio in January was 447,000, down from 458,000 in December.

As noted in our February 3 blog post, the U.S. unemployment rate for January dropped by 0.2 percent to 8.3 percent, which is down from December’s 8.5 percent.
