BrightEdge, a Silicon Valley marketing technology company with sales of about $50 million, plans to build a sales force in downtown Cleveland, Cleveland.com reports. The 7-year-old private company “uses data analytics to improve online content marketing” for its clients, which include Home Depot and Microsoft; BrightEdge has 200 employees in San Mateo and another 100 employees worldwide. The company currently has 10 employees in Cleveland and expects that number to grow to between 25 and 50 employees in the next six months, according to the article. Brad Mattick, vice president of marketing and products at BrightEdge, said, “[w]e thought a lot about how we’re going to grow and scale our business. . . . We looked at a number of locations and Cleveland stood out as the clear choice for BrightEdge.” Mattick listed Cleveland’s talent pool, transportation ease and quality universities among the factors that made the city attractive to the company.
