Scioto County joins the Port of Cincinnati in an effort to expand access to river traffic information

The Scioto County Commissioners recently voted to join the Port of Cincinnati in a regional economic development group so as to enable the port authority to "capture all of the statistics for the tonnage of cargo that's moving through the Ohio River between Scioto County and Carroll County, Kentucky," the Portsmouth Daily Times reports. Scioto County's jurisdiction will still remain under the Huntington District of the Corps of Engineers; this change will simply fill in the gap for the half of the county for which information was not previously shared.
