Amy Schrimpf, a former Kettering City Councilwoman and “familiar name in Kettering and Dayton-area economic development,” is the new economic development manager for Kettering, the Dayton Daily News reports. Schrimpf spent several years with the Dayton Development Coalition as project manager and government affairs director; she also worked with the Montgomery County Transportation Improvement District and the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, according to the article. She was elected to Kettering City Council for the first time in 2009. City Manager Mark Schwieterman said Schrimpf “has proven that she can successfully lead innovative projects and collaborate with businesses on solutions — even during economic downturn.
