Officials in Ross Township envision a redeveloped, walkable downtown area with everything from places to eat and shop to professional offices, in what they are calling the “Venice Downtown Redevelopment District” along State Route 128, the Hamilton Journal-News reports. “What we are looking for is something that would have that old town type of shops, some old time type of restaurants and coffee shops and possibly even some park area,” said Township Administrator Bob Bass. Township trustees hired McGill Smith Punshon Inc. to conduct a study of the area “from the Venice Pavillion Antiques Mall northeast to School Road.” The county’s planning administrator, Zeb Acuff, said the project’s timing is good because he thinks “Ross is the next area of the county that will experience great growth,” according to the article.
