Former Cincinnati Mayor Charlie Luken “is leaving the board that oversees the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority,” but another former Cincinnati mayor, Roxanne Qualls, has been appointed to take his place, the Cincinnati Business Courier reports. Qualls served on Cincinnati City Council from 1991 to 1999 and again from 2007 to 2014, “with a six-year stint as mayor from 1993 to 1999” when the top vote-getter in that race became mayor, according to the article. She was vice mayor for the last four years of her second stretch on City Council. She “leads the city’s housing advisory board, which is charged with figuring out the best way to address the city’s affordable housing deficit and spending millions of dollars.” In a statement, the Port said of Qualls, “[w]e are fortunate to have her breadth of knowledge supporting strategies to return unproductive real estate to its highest and best use.” For more, read the full article (subscription may be required).
