Purina to invest $550M in Clermont County manufacturing facility

A group effort paid off with the announcement that Nestle Purina Petcare Co. plans “to invest $550 million to build a dry pet food manufacturing facility in Clermont County,” the largest economic development project this year in terms of capital expenditure, the Cincinnati Business Courier reports. Kimm Lauterbach, president and CEO of REDI Cincinnati, “said landing Purina was a team effort” including officials from Clermont County, JobsOhio, REDI Cincinnati, Williamsburg Township and the State of Ohio, according to the article. The project will likely attract other investors to the area as well; Michael McNamara, director of economic development for Clermont County, said other commercial real estate brokers have already contacted him saying this project makes the nearby land more valuable.
