Proposed $125M Beachwood hotel project would create walkable, mixed-use development

Developer Chad Kertesz has a $125 million vision for the former DoubleTree Hotel in Beachwood: “recreate the atmosphere that has made Ohio City successful, the ability to live there and walk to stores and offices,” Crain’s Cleveland reports. A proposed rezoning would allow a mixed-use project that would repurpose some existing building and replace others, creating apartments, office space, retail, public green space and a pool for residents, according to the article. Kertesz said plans include a food hall and “light retail devoted to coffee and bagel shops, juice bars, cafes, bistros, hair and nail salons, spas and health and wellness services.” He called the project a “generational opportunity” due to the size of the site.
