Where a vacant lot now sits at one of the main gateways into Bexley, developers want to build a “four-story mix of apartments and commercial space,” Columbus Business First reports. Schottenstein Property Group and Lusk Architecture plan to co-develop Parkview House, “26 high-end apartments and 3,362 square feet of street-level retail or offices at the northwest corner of Main Street and Parkview Avenue,” according to the article. Bexley Mayor Ben Kessler called it exciting to see rejuvenation at the site, which was formerly a gas station, saying, “[i]t’s certainly the city’s goal to see vacant property developed.” Kessler also said, “I like that they have a (retail) component. The more that we have activity on the first floors on Main Street, it drives foot traffic, drives a pedestrian feel.” The project also includes an outdoor community deck on the second floor’s north side, and “45 parking spaces on one level, four feet below grade.” The proposal was scheduled to be presented to the city’s planning commission on February 22.
