Ohio's unemployment rate holds steady at 7.0 percent
According to data released on Friday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), Ohio's seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 7.0 percent from April to May 2013. The U.S. unemployment rate increased from 7.5 percent in April to 7.6 percent in May, but remained far below the 8.2 percent seen in May 2012. The number of unemployed workers in Ohio increased by 5,000 in May to 405,000. During that time, the state's nonagricultural wage and salary employment increased by 32,100.
