Ohio's unemployment rate drops to 7.0 percent

According to data released last week by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), Ohio's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped from 7.1 percent in March 2013 to 7.0 percent in April 2013, while the U.S. unemployment rate dropped from 7.6 percent in March to 7.5 percent in April, a press release from the department said. The number of unemployed workers in the state decreased by 7,000 in April to 400,000. During that time, the state's nonagricultural wage and salary employment increased 7,600.
