According to data released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODFJS), Ohio's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for January was 6.9 percent – a 0.2 percent drop from its December rate of 7.1 percent. The U.S. unemployment rate dropped from 6.7 percent in December to 6.6 percent in January, which is down from 7.9 percent in January 2013. The number of unemployed workers in Ohio decreased by 16,000 from 411,000 in December to 395,000 in January.
