Ohio's unemployment rate dropped to 6.1 percent in March

According to data released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), Ohio's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March was 6.1 percent – a 0.4 percent drop from its February rate of 6.5 percent. The U.S. unemployment rate was unchanged from the February rate of 6.7 percent, which is down from 7.5 percent in March 2013. The number of unemployed workers in Ohio decreased by 24,000 from 377,000 in February to 353,000 in March. During that time, the state's nonagricultural wage and salary employment increased 600, from a revised 5,282,300 in February to 5,282,900 in March. For more, read the full news release.
