Ohio's unemployment rate climbs to 7.2 percent in June

According to data released on Friday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), Ohio's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 7.2 percent in June 2013, up from 7.0 percent in May. The U.S. unemployment rate in June was unchanged from May at 7.6 percent and down from the 8.2 percent seen this time last year. The number of unemployed workers in Ohio increased by 8,000 in June to 413,000. During that time, the state's nonagricultural wage and salary employment decreased by 12,500.
