Ohio ranks in the Top 10 for Site Selection’s Best Climate for Business contest

On November 1, Site Selection magazine announced that Ohio ranked ninth in the U.S. for the best climate for business, dropping three places from last year's ranking at the No. 6 spot. The state was ranked as high as No. 4 in the nation in 2009.

The annual business climate rankings are determined by two main criteria: a state’s performance in Conway Data’s New Plant Database, which tracks new and expanded business facility activity, and a survey of corporate site seekers across the country.

Here's a look at Site Selection's Top 10 in 2011:

  1. Texas
  2. Georgia
  3. North Carolina
  4. Virginia
  5. South Carolina
  6. Indiana
  7. Louisiana
  8. Tennessee
  9. Ohio
10. Florida
