Ohio ranked second in Site Selection’s 2012 ranking of state business climates
In its 2012 Top State Business Climate Rankings, Site Selection magazine ranked Ohio second — up seven places from last year, the magazine reports. Ohio is the only state in this year's top 10 ranking from the Midwest region. The publication’s business climate ranking is “based 50 percent on a survey of corporate site selectors” and 50 percent on the following five criteria: the state’s placement in the magazine’s most recent Governor’s Cup ranking, its Competitiveness Ranking and its projects logged into the publication’s New Plant Database, as well as the “Tax Foundation and KPMG’s Location Matters analysis of state tax burdens,” the article said.
