Ohio oil and gas industry associations form alliance

According to the Ohio Energy Resource Alliance, several oil and gas associations have formed an alliance in an effort to serve as a comprehensive statewide resource for the variety of questions Ohioans have with regard to Marcellus and Utica shale drilling.

The article reports that the new organization – the Ohio Energy Resource Alliance – is comprised of the Ohio Petroleum Council (OPC), a division of the American Petroleum Institute (API); the Ohio Oil & Gas Association (OOGA); the Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP); Energy In Depth – OHIO (EID OHIO), and the Buckeye Energy Forum.

The alliance will hold "a series of forums and events across the state to address questions Ohioans may have about oil and gas exploration and production and the impact it will have on Ohio's economy," the article said.

Although the alliance website is not currently operational, those wishing to schedule a forum can do so by contacting Rebecca Heimlich, Director of the Ohio Energy Resource Alliance, at heimlichr@api.org.
