A new economic impact study released this week by the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) in collaboration with Information Handling Services, Inc. (IHS) – a leading global research and consulting company – finds that with 89,423 workers, Ohio is second only to Michigan for those employed in making auto parts, Dayton Daily News reports. The motor vehicle parts manufacturers industry "directly employs more than 734,000 American workers and generates nearly $355 billion in GDP contribution, or 2.3 percent of the total U.S. GDP," a press release from MEMA said.
